Based in Barcelona
Born and raised in Baja California, La Sister is an International Film Director and Writer shaped by the border culture between Mexico and the United States. After graduating from film school in Barcelona, she studied under Emir Kusturica, William Klein, and Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Stage Europeo Degli Esordi in Italy. She was awarded Best Emerging Talent at the London Fashion Film Festival for her work as screenwriter, director, and producer of the fashion film Cosmos.
Her short film Fragments of Time received the Best Mexican Short Film award at the International Author Film Festival. Her work has been showcased at numerous international festivals, including Berlin Commercial, La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, Milano Fashion Film Festival, Australian Fashion Film Festival, Creative Film Award, Los Angeles Film Festival, and Houston Latino Film Festival, Directed by Women, among others.
Now based in Barcelona, La Sister moves fluidly between cinema and advertising, bringing her distinctive visual storytelling to both worlds. Known for taking bold creative risks at both a visual and narrative level, she lets the story take command. She is currently writing her first feature film while preparing her next fashion film.
